Cornas - Pierre Gaillard 2019

This is made from a one-hectare plot of 70-year-old vines planted on cooler, east-facing granite slopes. Here a delicate nose of fresh blackberries, red cherries and roses contrasts with a bold and chewy palate of ripe brambles, leather, spices, and grippy tannins. Once more, a brush of acidity combines with a ferrous minerality to bring balance and freshness to the finish. Drink: 2022 - 2035.
